Healing Through Sound & Energy

Policies and Procedures

The intention of Aquarian Body Harmonics is to provide each guest with a professional and therapeutic experience. The following policies and procedures serve as a guide for first-time and regular massage guests of Aquarian Body Harmonics.

Aquarian Body Harmonics understands that unanticipated events occur in everyone's life. Unforeseen events such as car problems, traffic considerations, business meetings, and project deadlines, are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling a massage appointment.

Aquarian Body Harmonics is committed to providing a unique and outstanding massage experience to all guests equally. For the common consideration of both fellow guest and the therapists’, the following policies have been adopted.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, we look forward to serving you!

COVVID-19 GUIDELINES

Moving Forward with Covid-19
Massage therapy involves maintained touch and close proximity over an extended period of time.
Therefore, there may be and elevated risk of disease transmission, including Covid-19. In order to ensure the safety of you and your family should you choose to continue receiving massage treatments, I wold like to share what new protocols for hygienic practices i will be implementing, moving forward.
These guidelines have been established by The Medical Board of California, (MBC), The American Massage Therapist Council - (AMTC), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC).

Amid the ongoing uncertainty of Covid-19, I have updated my cancelation policy to all of my clients. I hope this will alleviate any stress or hesitation you may have about an upcoming appointment. If you need to reschedule for any reason, and especially if you are not feeling well, I understand and request that you please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. To further support you, there will be no penalties for cancellation at this time.
  • Your temperature will be taken before entering the treatment room. I will use a non-contact thermometer in order to-do so. If your temperature is 100.4 F or above, we will not be able to proceed with your appointment. It may be rescheduled, with caution, after three weeks.
  • Everyone has a new form to read and sign, please allow time for this.
  • I have provided a HEPA air purifier for the treatment room. This filter will be running during your treatment and set on a timer at the end of the night.
  • I will provide a sanitized tub for your clothes and other belongings.
  • Masks must be worn by both of us. If you do not have a mask, I will provide a disposable one for you. Don't worry, whey you are faced down, you may pull your mask down, as I will have a pillowcase coming through the face cradle to capture any breath particles being exhaled.
  • I am allowing 30 minutes after every appointment to deep clean the office, including the table, doorknobs, chairs, my cell phone for payment processing, the clip board, the pens used, massage bottles, etc.
  • I will wear either a fresh apron or smock or even a whole new outfit for your massage treatment, to make sure there is zero to minimal exchange of this dastardly virus.
  • I strongly suggest that we BOTH wash our hands thoroughly before and after your treatment. Hand sanitizer will also be provided.

Since we are all discovering new and evolving information about the complications of this infection, I must let you know that there is a red flag for massage therapy, one that has caused many CMT's to halt their careers Both temporarily and permanently. The role of blood clotting in Covid-19 has caused grave concern, as we are still unsure what effect massage may have with someone who may be asymptomatic.

For this reason, any new skin lesions or sign of stroke of pulmonary embolism are reasons to go directly to the emergency room.

For clients who have already tested positive in the past for Covid+19, i would appreciate you letting me know during the consultation, so that we can discuss the best treatment plan for you. If you experience any dire symptoms after receiving a massage from me, I would greatly appreciate a follow up phone call or text to assist in monitoring he effects of massage and Covid-19.

Thank you for your understanding and patience at this time. We must look out for each other and keep each other safe.

Bless you in Love and Light!

ARRIVAL TO YOUR MASSAGE
  • Please arrive for your scheduled appointment on time.  - Your therapist will be ready for you when you arrive. The room will have been prepared, i.e.: clean sheets and towels, heated stones, aroma therapy, etc.
  • A timely arrival ensures that you have time to fill out the appropriate guest form (new clients), change and prepare for the service(s). All appointments have a specific time schedule and timely arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience.
  • If late arrival is inevitable, your service(s) may be shortened in order for the therapist to stay on schedule, and the original scheduled treatment time will be charged. (Please see Late Arrival Policy below)

CANCELLATION POLICY
  • The below policy will be waived at this time due to Covid-19. If you feel sick, DO NOT come to your appointment. Text me and we can rescedule.
  • Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a treatment. This gives the therapist enough time to fill the time slot. If a client fails to cancel within 24 hours multiple times (2 or more), they will be asked to pre-pay for future services or may be denied service.

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY
  • Late arrivals will not receive extended time past scheduled appointments and the basic hourly rate will be charged for the full scheduled hour.
  • In special cases, and when the schedule allows, accommodation may be made for a partial or full appointment. This will be at the discretion of the therapist and only with proper, advanced notification of a late arrival. Please note: The original reserved time fee maybe charged.
  • Please understand. The scheduled hour has been set aside and will start at the scheduled time, this means that the scheduled hour will also end on time regardless of the guest being late or not.
  • Sessions start on time and end time out of respect to guests and therapists alike.
NO SHOW POLICY
  • Guests who fail to show for appointments will be required to pre-pay for future services or may be refused future appointments. Please be aware that when a guest does not show for an appointment, the time slot that was reserved is then empty rather than used for a guest who may have wanted that slot. Therapist's take pride in having their workspace ready for a guest, when a therapist is expecting a guest, they will do everything to make the room ready for the comfort of the guest. The therapist usually has time invested in being ready for the guest before they arrive, and a no-show means a hour of lost wages. Please be courteous to your therapist.

INFORMED CONSENT
  • Prior to each massage session, the therapist will discuss a treatment plan with the guest. On a first-time visit, you will receive a copy of the massage therapy policies and will be asked to sign the consent stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Guests who we have not seen for at least a year will also be asked to fill out this form as the form is updated from time to time.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE
  • Aquarian Body Harmonics' massage therapists are licensed professionals and held to the highest standards of the CAMTC (California Massage Therapy Council).
  • Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply conjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.
  • Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor's supervision. The massage therapist is required to refer you for diagnosis and to follow recommendations of your physician.
RESPECT FOR CLIENT NEEDS AND BOUNDARIES
  • Aquarian Body Harmonics Massage Therapists are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume or preference, work longer on an area or move on if you request it. The Therapist will be checking in with you from time to time during the massage to allow for these adjustments.
  • The client may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, stop massage at any time and is free to leave; the therapy door is never locked.
  • The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be uncovered.
  • Occasionally, an emotional response to massage occurs. If this happens, it is okay to express the feelings in our safe, nonjudgmental environment - or you may request privacy and end the session. You are in control.
PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
  • Requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated, will be viewed as solicitation, and reported to the proper authorities under the guidelines of the massage therapy policies and procedures. The guest will be refused future services if this occurs.
  • The breast and genital area will NOT be massaged under any circumstances. Permission will be asked before working close to these areas, if needed; otherwise, a professional distance will be maintained. Also, low back, hip & gluteal area will be massaged only with permission and can be worked through the draping if requested.
  • Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate. On rare occasions an involuntary sensual response to massage is natural and will subside on its own in a few moments.
  • Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and said guardian must be present in the room during the entire session,
CONFIDENTIALITY AND CONVERSATION
  • The discussion between the massage therapist and the guest is confidential. The guest may or may not choose to talk during the massage.
  • We are happy to listen to your conversation and share our professional expertise. We prefer to not discuss topics of a political, religious or private nature.
